There are different seasons and what we want does not really affect what season it is. We can only adapt to the seasons. Just like in nature where we have rainy season and dry season or autumn, spring, summer and winter seasons, we cannot control when they come or when they go. We can only adapt to the conditions that come with them.

This is the same with life in general. Everything cannot be perfect the way that you want. You need to understand that there are seasons and there is a need for you to adapt. The rainy season may be your favourite season but that does not mean that you will not be having fun or making progress in dry season.

the principle of rhythm

If things are going well for you at the moment, plan ahead and set up the structure that will sustain you in the seasons that do not favour you. If things are not going well for you at the moment, position yourself to take full advantage of the opportunities that will come when seasons change.

Simply knowing that everything flows will put you at an advantage. Without a careful look at peopleโ€™s lives and situations, you may think that some people are constantly in seasons of fruitfulness (or fruitlessness). This is not the case but it is only an outsider story. When you take a closer look, you will discover that the principle of rhythm plays its role in everyoneโ€™s life.

It is only those who recognize this law and flow with it that will make it seem as though the law is not functional in their lives. In your season of pain, do not panic but bear the pain in good heart and in your season of joy, do not be overly excited but equip yourself for the turn of events.

โ€œIf we take good things from the Lord, why then should we not accept troubleโ€ (Job 2:10) Do not lie to yourself by assuming that every day will be your favourite day. No matter how you love the weekends, it will give way for the weekdays and vice versa and so every day will not be your day to shine. Flow and be at peace with yourself.
